Clear Quotes No Surprises

Pricing

Translation pricing should be easy to understand before you commit — not a surprise on the invoice. This page explains how Locstars quotes projects, what moves the price up or down, and why the number on your quote is the number you pay.

Per-Word and Per-Page Pricing

Most projects are priced per word of the source text, because word count is the fairest measure of actual effort. For documents where counting words is impractical — scanned certificates, official records, some certified documents — we quote per page instead.

Either way, you receive a fixed, itemized quote before any work begins. Nothing starts until you approve it.

What Affects Your Translation Cost

Several factors shape the final figure:

Language pair — some combinations require rarer specialists than others

Subject matter — legal, medical, and patent texts demand senior domain experts

Turnaround — rush deadlines can add a premium; flexible timelines can save you money

Volume and repetition — larger projects and repeated content qualify for translation-memory discounts

Extras — certification, desktop publishing, or complex formatting are quoted as separate line items

No Hidden Fees

The quote we send is complete. It covers the full TEP process — translation, editing, and proofreading — plus final checks and delivery in your required format. If the scope changes mid-project, we tell you before the cost does.

Yes. Independent editing and proofreading are part of the standard quote, not paid add-ons.

Because a fair price depends on your language pair, subject, and deadline. A generic rate would overcharge simple projects and underprice complex ones — a tailored quote costs nothing.
